Landscaping with wood arbors enhance the curb appeal for your home. Every spring and fall it is a good idea to inspect your arbor so that it will continue to be attractive through the years.

During the fall, it is a good idea to clear away the old growth from the annual plants that were trellised to your arbor. Once the vegetation is cleared away, you can inspect your arbor for any damage and you can repair it, re-stain it or paint it at this time.

In the spring, trellis your new plant growth with gardening tape or clips to train it to the trellis. Clean away any bird nests or wasp nests. If you have any metal parts, hinges, handles or springs, inspect those and oil them as necessary.Nothing interferes with a quiet repose than a squeaky swing or gate. Check for termite or carpenter ant infestation and take the necessary steps if these insects are discovered. Inspect the wood for any moved or dislodged pieces and repair them as necessary.

With just a little maintenance and care, your wood arbors will continue to be an attractive component of your yard or garden
